Maersk suspends vessel transit through Strait of Hormuz

COPENHAGEN -- Maersk, the major container shipping company, said Sunday it was halting passage through the Suez Canal and the narrow Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf, next to Iran, for "safety" reasons.
